Brought to you by Queer Dharma Portland
Queer Dharma is a group for LGBTQ+ practitioners to study and practice meditation and Dharma. The group serves to send a message to newcomers that they are welcome in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, and to explore how gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, transgender, genderqueer and intersex individuals can incorporate the teachings in everyday life.
Queer Dharma practices mindfulness as a group, and meditation instruction is available to you. No experience is necessary and there are plenty of cushions and chairs. This group is scheduled to meet every first Sunday of the month from 2:00 - 4:00pm. A small monetary donation of $1.00 - 2.00 dollars is suggested to help keep the host Shambhala Center operational.
This month's group will consist of a workshop on fearlessness and gentleness, hosted by psychotherapist Sasha Strong, M.A.
