Mission

The Queer Youth Resource Center (QYRC) is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to the mission of serving lesbian, gay, bi, pan, trans, nonbinary, intersex, asexual/aromantic, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth ages 12-24 and their allies in Vancouver and the greater Southwest Washington area. We here at QYRC, in solidarity with many youth today, choose to reclaim "queer" to serve as an inclusive umbrella term referencing all LGBTQ+ people.

Vision

At the Queer Youth Resource Center, our vision is to be a beacon of hope and a hub of growth for LGBTQIA+ youth in Vancouver and across Southwest Washington. We are committed to creating a vibrant, inclusive community where every young person, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, feels valued, supported, and empowered.

The establishment of our new home at 650 Officers Row marks a significant step in our journey. We envision this space not just as a physical center but as a symbol of safety, acceptance, and possibility for the LGBTQIA+ community in Southwest Washington.

We are dedicated to fostering an environment where LGBTQIA+ youth can discover their true selves, develop their potential, and connect with a supportive network. Through our diverse range of activities, from recreational events to educational resources, we aim to nurture the holistic development of our youth.

Our vision extends beyond the walls of our center. We seek to influence positive change in our society, advocating for the rights and well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals. We aspire to be a driving force in shaping a world where every queer youth in Southwest Washington can thrive without barriers.

In this journey, we welcome the participation and support of our community—family, friends, allies, and LGBTQIA+ youth themselves. Together, we can transform this vision into reality, crafting a future where every young person in our region can proudly live their truth.
