It is imperative that we continue to show up for queer youth! How can YOU help? We are in search of volunteers to get involved!
Our Current Work
The Queer Youth Resource Center (QYRC) is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to serving LGBTQ+ youth and their allies in Vancouver and greater Southwest Washington. While QYRC is not yet a physical building, we operate from the motto of “creating community as our center,” utilizing existing community partnered locations to provide our services. Our ultimate goal is to permanently establish a local center that offers safer spaces to support and empower queer youth and their allies. In the meantime, our current work includes:
Maintaining our website and social media
Planning and hosting recreational youth events
Participating in local networking and outreach
Promoting LGBTQ+ youth relevant resources and events
Engaging in fundraising and grant writing efforts
Volunteer Positions and Expectations
We welcome family, friends, service providers of, and general stakeholders invested in queer youth, as well as queer youth themselves, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or experience level, to get involved in our work. We have positions open within our Board of Directors, and also always appreciate general advisors and volunteers. We are in search of volunteers who:
Can attend a monthly board meeting
Have experience and connections throughout the LGBTQ+ community
Are energetic, passionate, reliable, committed, and group-oriented
May have a background in event planning, accounting, grant writing, fundraising, real estate, education, marketing, and communications
If you think you’re ready to support and empower the LGBTQ+ youth of Vancouver and Southwest Washington, please join us at our next monthly board meeting, or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
